MSN, RN, Pediatric DNP Candidate
Columbia University School of Nursing
Olivia Hershkowitz is a registered nurse pursuing a Pediatric Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) with a subspecialty in oncology at Columbia University School of Nursing. She previously earned her undergraduate degree from Columbia University before obtaining her Master of Nursing and RN certification from Columbia University as well. With a strong passion for pediatric oncology, Olivia is committed to providing comprehensive, compassionate care to children and their families.
Olivia's journey in nursing began long before she entered the profession. Through countless overnight hospital shifts and years of volunteering for a non-profit organization for pediatric oncology, she witnessed firsthand the critical role nurses play in both the medical and emotional aspects of patient care. From the moment a patient enters a healthcare setting, the nurse is often the first and last person they interact with, guiding them through every step of their treatment. Olivia values this connection and understands the responsibility that comes with being a nurse—ensuring that patients and their families feel supported and cared for throughout their medical journey.
Her passion for pediatric oncology stems from her desire to provide continuity of care for children facing long-term treatment. She recognizes the challenges families endure and strives to be a steady source of support, balancing medical expertise with empathy. Olivia’s commitment to nursing extends beyond direct patient care—she believes in the power of leadership and advocacy to drive meaningful change in healthcare. With her background, education, and experience, she is dedicated to making a lasting impact in the field of pediatric oncology.
