Barbara is a Nursing Professional Development Specialist (NPDS) at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), Middleman Family Pavilion in King of Prussia (KOP). She began her nursing career in pediatric oncology after earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Drexel University, working for 10 years on the inpatient Oncology/Blood and Marrow Transplant unit and in the outpatient oncology clinic. Barbara's passion for pediatric oncology nursing, along with her commitment to education and supporting newer nurses, inspired her to pursue a Master of Science in Nursing Education and Faculty Role from Drexel University. Upon completing her degree, Barbara transitioned into a Central NPDS role, where she focused on hospital-wide education and orientation while continuing to support to both inpatient and outpatient oncology units. After approximately a year and a half, she moved to the KOP location, where she continues to bring her expertise and dedication to supporting the oncology nursing team. In addition, she supports the PICU, Adolescent, and General Pediatric areas.
