Assistant Professor, Pediatric Nurse Practitioner
Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Children's Hospital
With over 20 years of experience in pediatric oncology nursing, I currently serve as an Assistant Professor and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children's Hospital. My career started in the clinical role for both inpatient and outpatient care in our pediatric stem-cell transplant program. After 10 years, I transitioned into leading and developing the Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Long-Term Survivor Program.
Currently, I focus on optimizing the electronic medical record and advancing oncology-specific programs, translating cutting-edge research into actionable treatment protocols. I spend my clinical time as the Director of our specialty urgent care bay, internal to our Cancer & Hematology Center, where acute issues are addressed for our hematology/oncology patients. In addition to clinical work, I contribute to multi-disciplinary projects, serve on APHON committees, assist with updates to core nursing curriculum, and volunteer with external organizations.
