Amy Sapp, DNP, RN, is the Director of Pediatric Nursing at the UF Health Proton Therapy Institute in Jacksonville, FL where she coordinates the pediatric program. With more than 30 years of nursing experience including neonatal intensive care, hematology, oncology, palliative and hospice care, and radiation oncology, Amy possesses extensive knowledge in caring for pediatric patients and their families and is dedicated to designing and implementing nursing standards that ensure the highest quality of care. Her keen interest in oncology blossomed three decades ago and has been at the forefront of her mind since she was exposed to the field. This line of work has led to her passion in patient survivorship.
Amy’s healthcare journey has spanned home health, the neonatal intensive care unit at a major academic hospital, and the oncology department at Nemours Children’s Clinic. Her leadership responsibilities in her current role led her to pursue higher education at the graduate level. Amy now holds a Doctorate in Nursing Practice, with a concentration in administration and leadership. She graduated from Aspen University in 2024, where she served as the Student Representative for the School of Nursing Advisory Committee and the Chapter President of the Sigma Alpha Beta Alpha Chapter.
