CLINICAL NURSE COORDINATOR

As a dedicated vascular anomalies nursing coordinator, Darla brings over 30 years of experience, including 9 years specifically in vascular anomalies. She has a passion for these patients with complex vascular conditions and is driven by the team's commitment in providing care and improving outcomes through multidisciplinary comprehensive collaboration. She received her BSN at UTMB School of Nursing and her Master's Degree in Nursing at Grand Canyon University with emphasis on public health. She is certified in Ambulatory Nursing. She is a member of ISSVA, TNA, ANA, AAACN and SVN.
She works closely with a multidisciplinary team of specialists, including 19 different subspecialties, where they develop personalized treatment plans that address the unique needs of each patient.
She is involved in research initiatives to focus on improving the coordination of care for Vascular Anomalies patients. She serves as the lead for the coordinator cohort for ISSVA (International Society for the Study of Vascular Anomalies) in which the focus is on improving the communication and practice of the coordinators of Vascular Anomalies Programs across the nation and internationally.
She has over thirty years of experience primarily in Pediatrics and Pediatric sub-specialties and has held positions of leadership and education throughout her career. Her primary goal is to help enhance awareness and understanding of these conditions and advocate for the highest standard of care for patients, thus helping to improve their quality of life.
