Kristen began her career at Boston Children’s Hospital (BCH) in 2007 through Northeastern University's Co-Op program and joined the Stem Cell Transplant (SCT) Unit the following year. Since becoming a staff nurse in 2009, she has spent the past fifteen years providing compassionate, high-quality care and has advanced to the role of Staff Nurse II, serving as a Charge Nurse, mentor, and preceptor.
In addition to her clinical role, Kristen is the lead nurse and coordinator of the Hematology/Oncology/SCT Integrative Therapies Program and HART programs, where she plays a pivotal role in her department's patient and staff well-being. Her commitment to professional growth is reflected in a wide range of certifications, which include Chemotherapy and Biotherapy, Reiki II, Registered Yoga Teacher-200, Clinical Aromatherapy, Pediatric Emergency Assessment Recognition Stabilization (PEARS), and CITI training. She is also a Certified Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurse (CPHON®) and Blood and Marrow Transplant Certified Nurse (BMTCN®).
Beyond patient care, Kristen has contributed to evidence-based practice by completing BCH's Evidence-Based Mentorship Program (EBMP), focusing on aromatherapy for immunocompromised patients. She is actively involved in hospital-wide workforce well-being initiatives, including policy development and the creation of employee-led special interest groups.
Kristen recently earned her Master of Science in Nurse Administration and Leadership from Simmons University. She remains deeply committed to fostering holistic, integrative care for patients while promoting a supportive and resilient work environment for healthcare staff.
