Charge Nurse/Team Lead

Amanda has been a dedicated nurse for over 15 years, currently working at St. Louis Children’s Hospital in the Hematology/Oncology outpatient clinic and infusion center. Her journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Samford University, followed by continued professional development and a current research fellowship. She holds certifications in both CPN and CPHON and is an APHON Chemotherapy/Biotherapy instructor.
In addition to being a Charge Nurse, her Team Lead role focuses on patient and family-centered care. Through this, she supports families navigating new oncology diagnoses and focuses on improving patient and family education. Amanda is the co-lead of the hospitals sickle cell committee and is working to increase support for patients both in the hospital and the local community. Her most recent project includes an art installation on the unit that celebrates patients with sickle cell disease transitioning to adult care.
