Ashley Makara has been employed by Texas Children's Hospital since beginning as a graduate nurse in the inpatient pediatric Hematology/ Oncology unit in 2014. Throughout her 11+ years, she has transitioned to multiple roles including but not limited to inpatient staff RN, outpatient infusion and cancer center RN, preceptor, central line nurse, vascular access trained RN, and has most recently been serving in her role as an inpatient Nursing Professional Development Practitioner (Decentralized Nurse Education Coordinator) for the last 4 years. She holds her BSN, RN, CPN, and CPHON credentials and certifications and is a PALS, APHON chemotherapy/ biotherapy, and simulation instructor.
