Manager, Care Coordiantion and Nurse Navigation

Katrina Pennington is the Manager of Care Coordination at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, leading a team of care coordinators and nurse navigators who support pediatric hematology and oncology patients across inpatient and outpatient settings. Her nursing experience spans pediatric hematology and oncology care coordination and case management, pediatric hospice and palliative care, and international community health. In addition to her clinical expertise, she served as the Assistant Director of a non-governmental organization focused on promoting community health and development in underserved communities in South Asia.
With a deep understanding of the barriers affecting access to care, Katrina is committed to patient-centered care that prioritizes advocacy and health equity. She has led initiatives to improve stroke prevention screening rates for patients with sickle cell disease, enhance education for classical hematologic disorders, and optimize outpatient clinic efficiency. She is actively involved in quality improvement efforts to strengthen care coordination models and improve healthcare delivery. Currently, she is working with her team to enhance care transitions and ensure comprehensive support for patients throughout their health care journey.
