Dr. Peslak is a physician-scientist and Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, and cares for patients and serves as Gene Therapy Lead in the UPenn Comprehensive Sickle Cell Program and Comprehensive Adult Thalassemia Program, and serves as Director of the Penn Comprehensive Adult Thalassemia Program at the University of Pennsylvania. In addition to his clinical focus on red cell disorders, his laboratory at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine studies novel regulators of fetal hemoglobin and new genetic and pharmacologic therapies for the treatment of sickle cell disease and beta-thalassemia.
