The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
Kristin Granahan has been a nurse at the Children's Hosptial of Philadelphia since 2008, after earning her BSN from The Pennsylvania State University. She began her nursing career on an inpatient Neurology and General Pediatrics unit where she served as a staff nurse, charge nurse, preceptor, and Professional Governance unit chair. In 2013, Kristin joined a small group of nurses to pilot a unit-based quality and safety role. The role has continued to evolve, and Kristin has been in the Safety Quality Specialist role ever since. The role has provided her the opportunity to work in a variety of care areas, where she leads safety event reviews and unit-based quality improvement projects. Kristin went on to earn her MSN in Executive Nurse Leadership from Wilmington University in 2020. She is most proud of being a part of a nursing leadership team who helped to open CHOP's first satellite campus hospital in 2022, where she still works today.
