Winnie Njuguna is the Program Coordinator for the Global Nursing Program in the Department of Global Pediatric Medicine at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. She joined St. Jude in January 2023, bringing over 20 years of diverse nursing experience in clinical care, education, leadership, and program management. A Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, she earned her master’s degree in Child Nursing with a specialization in Pediatric Hematology-Oncology from the University of Cape Town, graduating cum laude.
Winnie’s extensive clinical background includes work in pediatric hematology-oncology, emergency care, general pediatrics, and quality improvement at Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya.
At St. Jude, Winnie collaborates with interdisciplinary regional teams and international partners to advance pediatric oncology nursing globally. Her role focuses on strengthening nursing education and practice through the co-design and implementation of initiatives that build local capacity and improve patient outcomes. She plays a key role in supporting research, evidence-based practice, leadership development, and quality improvement efforts in low- and middle-income countries.
