Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Director
Dana Farber Cancer Institute
After graduating from my BSN I worked as oncology/bmt nurse at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. While I was a nurse at CHOP I developed a CPON review course, poster presentation at APHON, and ran the unit’s mentoring program. During that time I also started my master degree at University of Pennsylvania in the Acute/Chronic Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Program with a specialty in pediatric oncology and a special certificate in teacher education program. I completed my Masters in August of 2006.
In November of 2006 I took a position at Children’s Hospital of New York University (CHONY) – Columbia University Medical Center. From 2006- 2008 I worked in dual role as clinical nurse specialist in Oncology/BMT program and as a nurse practitioner in BMT program. In 2008 -2012 I worked in sole role as Oncology/BMT nurse practitioner. During my time at CHONY I lead a qualitative improvement project to reduce CLABSI in BMT patients and was the first author of a paper on the outcomes of our qualitative project. During my time at CHONY I was also active member of APHON and presented multiple posters and one presentation at APHON conference; as well as chairing the National APHON conference nominating committee.
Since October of 2013 I have worked at Dana Farber Cancer Institute as nurse practitioner in the outpatient pediatric clinic taking care of patients with solid tumors. In 2024 I accepted a role as the Director of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners at DFCI in this role I continue to care for patients.
