Maureen Cantwell is a highly experience registered nurse with over 43 years in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. Throughout her career, she has worked in a variety of settings, including hospital, home health, and acute care environments, providing exceptional care to pediatric patients and their families. Maureen is known for her ability to manage and solve complex issues related to patient care, staff coordination, and family communication on a daily basis.
Currently, Maureen serves as a clinical leader in the Hematology/Oncology/BMT Outpatient Clinic at Nationwide Children's Hospital. She is responsible for coordinating care in both inpatient and outpatient settings, overseeing chemotherapy treatments, managing patient flow, and evaluating staffing needs. She collaborates effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure high quality patient care and plays an essential role in the development and review of standing operating procedures and educational materials for staff.
Maureen has contributed significantly to the hospital's transition to electronic medical records, serving as a member of the Epic build team and developing chemotherapy order sets. Maureen is committed to ongoing professional development and has been involved in nursing education by teaching chemotherapy classes, presenting research, and attending conferences.
With a passion for patient care, Maureen continues to maintain licensure and stay current with the latest advancements in nursing practice, ensuring she provides the best possible care to her patients.
