Nurse Manager 4 Kay
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
My nursing career started in August of 2018 after graduating with my BSN from the University of Arkansas. After spending one year at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN on an adult solid tumor oncology unit, I felt called to Memphis. I started at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in October of 2019 on the pediatric solid tumor and neuro-oncology unit. During my time as an inpatient fifth floor nurse, I obtained my Masters in Nursing from the University of Memphis. I transitioned to a clinical staff leader, where I served as a nursing supervisor with split clinical and administrative responsibilities. Motivated by my passion for shared governance, I spent a few years serving on the inpatient service line council. As the chair of this council, I spearheaded a project focused on leveling up our bedside nurses. I've obtained my CPHON and CNML certifications and recently transitioned into the inpatient manager role for the fourth floor at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. I look forward to continuing to grow in my career in this role and advancing the work being done within pediatric hematology and oncology.
